Nominative Case — What You Must Know (Part 2)
The nominative is the case of the subject (Wer? / Was?). In Part 2 we focus on practical use: articles, “sein” sentences, and how to quickly spot the subject in real German.
Nominative Articles

“sein” Sentences: Two Nominatives
With sein, the complement is also nominative:
- Das ist mein Bruder.
- Er ist ein Lehrer.
- Ich bin der Fahrer.
Common Confusion: Nominative vs Accusative
- Der Mann sieht den Hund.
- Die Frau kauft das Brot.
